“Zombieland: Double Tap” was a satisfying sequel to the first movie, “Zombieland”. As with most sequels, the viewers worry that it won’t be nearly as satisfying as the original, yet “Zombieland: Double Tap was able to keep the quality matched with the first one. It continues the storyline in an interesting way while bringing in new characters, such as the “hippie” and vegan, that may not have been predicted after watching the original. 

As the title suggests, the movie has zombies, and in a world where zombies exist, it would be expected that everyone would band together to fight these beasts off. This movie brings a certain reality to the relationship part of the movie. There wouldn’t be constant happiness, there would be jokes and mean comments said. There would also be flighty people that leave whenever they feel uncomfortable. Not everyone would get along, but they would try to make it work, no matter where they were before the apocalypse happened.

This duo tries to bring comedy to a subject that isn’t equipped for it. Zombies aren’t a funny topic; although, our way of coping with things is to make jokes. The conflicts that occur are supposed to be comedic while having a sense of danger due to their potential/possible deaths. As for almost every zombie movie, it takes place in America. One of the jokes they make is about fat/dumb people which makes it seem even more like America.

The plot throughout the movie was trying to find their home. In the first one, they were able to find one that they could stay at for a while, but in the second one, they end up leaving that home and begin a journey to find a new one. This made me feel bad for the characters because they weren’t able to feel safe for long and that is an awful feeling.

Though I loved the humor in the movie. Some people may have found the jokes they made offensive. They brought up topics like vegans and weed. I didn’t mind these concepts in the movie, but I could see how some people wouldn’t be happy about them. 

I would recommend this movie to my friends and family. It kept all the good things about the first one and continued it into the second one. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Though there are parts, like the vegan part, that I wouldn’t have added, it was still a comedic movie.
