The Pink Panther proves to be a surprisingly charming comedy that will be sure to please audiences with its eccentric concepts, ridiculous characters and its boatloads of pure fun. The movie is a remake of the original series in the franchise, but once again revolves around Inspector Clouseau. It all starts when a French soccer coach is killed after his team wins and someone promptly steals a diamond from his finger, which is known as the Pink Panther, because it is a hugely famous diamond that's also pink. Because the diamond is a source of national pride for many in France, Chief Inspector Dreyfus understands the importance of capturing the thief and returning the ring to whoever the rightful owner now is. However, due to the fact that this is a difficult task that could involve having some of his best inspectors looking bad, the Chief comes up with the brilliant idea of giving the assignment to someone who's bound to mess up, who just happens to be Inspector Clouseau. Inspector Clouseau is placed in charge of the case and is given free reigns as to how he would like to solve the case. However, as Clouseau tries to prove to the world that he really is a great detective, just like every other male in his family's lineage, Chief Inspector Dreyfus decides to put the truly qualified detectives on the case in secret. As both Inspector Clouseau and the real detectives attempt to solve the mystery, it's Clouseau that actually ends up making a bigger impact. With his seemingly odd mistakes and incredible amount of misjudgments, it seems that Clouseau has every reason to be a failure, but for some reason, it's Clouseau that successfully begins to track the killer.
The Pink Panther is a wonderfully addictive adventure that captivates audiences with its hilarious moments and lovable characters that are put in the spotlight to shine. While the plot of the movie may be considered somewhat lackluster for some, lacking the structure and backbone necessary for a truly memorable and well-written story, the movie more than makes up for that with its ability to entertain. There are plenty of spectacular scenes that come to mind that highlight just how crazy Inspector Clouseau can be, and they are nothing but a pure delight to watch. As Inspector Clouseau does his best to find whoever stole the Pink Panther, he also makes a significant amount of mistakes along the way that prove to be some of the movie's greatest scenes.

The Pink Panther may not be nearly as cohesive as the originals in the franchise, seeing as it's a remake and those almost never due the originals complete justice, but it still proves to be a thoroughly great choice for entertainment. Steve Martin is superb as Inspector Clouseau, and he brings emotion, passion and plenty of humor to the role. His performance is likable from start to finish, and he provides a character that is hard not to root for. While there are plenty of other notable roles, like Jean Reno's Ponton who helps to form an awesome relationship with Martin's Clouseau, Steve Martin is the true star more often than not, even when considering that Beyoncé is in the movie.

The Pink Panther is a concise adventure that has a layered mystery, plenty of shocking revelations and is just a surprisingly elated tale that will be sure to unsurprisingly bring back plenty of childhood fun. While the movie may not be as well-regarded as the originals, it still provides enough entertainment to satisfy audiences of all ages. Without a doubt, the movie is definitely worth giving a shot.
