Forgetting Sarah Marshall is a surprisingly charming comedy that is actually capable of pleasing viewers. The movie revolves around Peter Bretter, who's a struggling musician and is best known for being the boyfriend to Sarah Marshall. Sarah is a television star that is known for her acting skills. However, things go very sour in their relationship after five years. Sarah ends up breaking up with Peter, instantly breaking his heart, forcing him to begin to become sad, and he quickly wants to seek a solution. Peter believes that he should forget about Sarah Marshall, and he decides that a possible solution would be to go to Hawaii and have his stress wash away at the beautiful location. Although Peter discovers a Hawaiian native, who he believes he can have a serious relationship with, he soon realizes that Sarah Marshall is at the same hotel as him, except she's with her new boyfriend, making forgetting Sarah Marshall that much more difficult.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall is actually an engaging movie that is able to combine drama and comedy to create a tale that is genuinely entertaining to watch. Even though the beginning of the movie is fairly straightforward, due to the fact that the title hints at what occurs during this part, the middle of the movie does a marvelous job of progressing things along and presenting audiences with humor. The enticing ending of the movie proves to be slightly heartwarming, and although it is somewhat predictable, it becomes nearly impossible to not root for Peter Bretter, because he is just such a relatable, lovable character. Because so much harshness occurs to Peter, and he continues to be a kind person who just wants to find the right person for him, and the fact that Peter is far from perfect, rooting for him almost becomes natural.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall is a movie that knows how to make audiences laugh. The entire movie is hilarious throughout and benefits from a thought through dialogue that is both clever and witty. One scene in particular that comes to mind is when Sarah Marshall agrees to eat dinner with Peter Bretter, who is the person that she thinks she's falling in love with again, and her new boyfriend. Because the scenario is naturally ironic and awkward, several different jokes are presented deliriously so and really showcase the star-studded cast's raw acting talent.
In fact, a major reason for why Forgetting Sarah Marshall is able to become such a triumphant hit is due to a spectacular cast that is more than just a bit deserving of receiving recognition. Jason Segel does a superb job of portraying Peter Bretter, and his natural charisma is shown through the fan-favorite character that helps to demonstrate how far one man will go for true love. He's the face of the film and rightfully so. The role seems to be perfect for him, and luckily for the movie, Jason plays Peter to the point that the character is complex and has many different layers. Mila Kunis also does a fantastic job of playing Rachel Jansen, and she is truly able to transform into her character. Her on-screen chemistry with Jason Segel is just outstanding and helps to make the relationship between their characters seem that much more believable. Paul Rudd is also actually able to depict Chuck wonderfully, which is interesting, since the role is pretty unusual when compared to some of Rudd's other roles. Even though Jonah Hill's character isn't that significant or have that big of an impact on the movie, he is still able to become a funny character that aids the movie as a device to add some silly aspects to the film.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall isn't only a hit with viewers, but critics also found a great deal of satisfaction with the movie. Rotten Tomatoes gave the movie an impressive 83%, which is actually quite the exceptional score, since they are known for giving generally lower scores to comedies. IMDb gave the movie a high 7.2/10, which is actually better than it seems, due to the fact that they are known for giving slightly lower scores in general. However, a whopping 89% of Google users liked the movie, demonstrating that both critics and common movie-goers alike were able to find contentment with the movie.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall doesn't have many faults and is definitely worth watching, because it is actually a good fit for just about anyone and everyone and will absolutely surpass any and all expectations with its eloquent combination of drama and comedy.
