Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi is the sixth installment in the original Star Wars trilogy and brings the beloved series to an end. It all starts when Luke Skywalker is battling with the horrific Jabba the Hut in order to save his dear friend, Han Solo. Because he's been busy and hasn't been swept up by the recent news, Luke is unaware that the Galactic Empire has started to secretly build a new ship, like the Death Star, but larger and more powerful. If this ship ever gets completed, it would be certain doom for just about anyone and everyone in the galaxy, especially the Rebel Alliance, who are just trying to do their part in restoring peace to the galaxy.

Where to start in explaining how great the movie is? Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi is simply triumphant in every which way possible. The beginning starts things off brilliantly, and the viewer immediately knows that the movie is going to be an adventure for the ages. The mind-blowing middle manages to progress the film without getting boring or over-complicated at a single point. The enticing ending has twists and turns at seemingly every corner, and the exuberating end helps to make the trilogy one cohesive story that is sure to amaze. All of these parts, plus a great conflict, help to transform the movie into a ridiculously awesome blockbuster that manages to combine eccentric characters with viewers' fan-favorite, relatable characters to create a work of art that is able to be put into the same conversation as the movies before it.

All of the main characters have important roles, and Chewbacca is arguably at his finest, while Yoda, R2D2, C3PO, Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Luke Skywalker, as well as others, help to create some impressive character development that helps to demonstrate the suspense and intensity that the movie so proudly conjures.

The vivid visual effects help to add a punch of science fiction-esque to the movie, and some of the alien creatures look all-too realistic. The heroic Luke Skywalker and the delirious Darth Vader have a battle for the ages that truly showcases the might and power of two Jedi-trained warriors. Their light sabers are electrifying, both literally and figuratively, and they manage to create the anticipated battle that fans so avidly awaited.

Although this movie had some gigantic expectations to live up to, seeing as it came after the international-success Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back, and there's an argument to be made that this movie isn't quite on the same level as that masterpiece, Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi is a spectacular movie that ends one of the greatest trilogies of all time proudly. The movie does George Lucas's impressive vision justice, as well as suffice loyal fans that eagerly awaited this finale. The dialogue is simply superb and gifts fans some outstanding one-liners, as well as perfectly timed responses. The movie is emotionally rich, and there are certain scenes that are both heart-warming and heart-breaking, which is an absolute must for all great endings.

Even though fans didn't seem to be disappointed by the movie, critics seemed to be a little to harsh. IMDb gave the movie a 8.4/10, and Rotten Tomatoes gave the movie a 80%. While both of those scores aren't necessarily poor, the fact that this imaginative creation scored so low is just preposterously absurd, seeing as the movie succeeded with just about everything. However, 94% of Google users liked the movie, and this feels like a much more appropriate rating, since Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi is a fantastic must see for all movie-goers. Return of the Jedi, indeed.
