Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is the fifth installment in the Harry Potter series and continues the adventures of the boy who lived. It all starts during the summer before Harry begins his fifth year at Hogwarts. After a slew of events, Harry Potter finds himself at a disciplinary hearing for using magic in the presence of a Muggle. While attempting to defend his case at the Ministry of Magic, Harry soon discovers that the Ministry has been trying to keep his encounter with Lord Voldemort a secret and has been trying to say that Harry's recalling of the event was fictional. After Harry gets a little help from an old friend, the teen wizard begins his fifth year at Hogwarts but soon discovers that things are going to be a little bit odder than usual. Cornelius Fudge, who happens to be the Minister, appoints, Dolores Umbridge, a loyal peer that believes the ministry is always right and makes her the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts in order to watch over the school and ensure that everything is being done according to the rules that the Ministry has put into place.

However, Dolores ends up being a cruel, unorthodox teacher that makes her students study magic, instead of actually practicing. Because Harry Potter and his buddies believe that they need to be preparing for the upcoming dangers and the Death Eaters, this action doesn't sit well with Harry. In order to stand up for what they believe in and to take action, Harry, Hermione, and Ron end up gathering their friends together, and they start creating their own secret club where they actually practice magic and train themselves to eventually be able to fight against the rising tide of evil that is sure to show no mercy.

Although this movie doesn't quite live up to the brilliance of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, this movie is certainly a great one in its own right, as well as an action-packed, intense adventure that manages to grip audiences in an enticing, thrilling ride. The excellent ending of the movie manages to tie everything together and shock audiences to their core, as well as take advantage of all of the built up suspense. The visually pleasing effects match the likes of the other movies, and for certain parts of the movie, these spectacular special effects help to add a fantasy/science fiction-esque tone to the movie. Even though this movie is triumphantly packed to the brim with twists and turns at seemingly ever corner, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix feels like a tool to build up success for later movies.

With that said, the exhilarating adventure is still able to intrigue and amaze viewers, as well as make loyal fans proud. Without a doubt, critics and viewers didn't seem to mind that much that the movie wasn't quite on the same level as the fourth one. Rotten Tomatoes gave the movie a decent 78%, and an impressive 96% of Google users liked the movie. Simply put, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is an incredibly wondrous roller coaster that manages to give characters another year of magic and obstacles under their belt, as well as the ability to gift audiences one of the more dramatic movies in the franchise.
