The Dragonet Prophecy by Tui.T. Sutherland is a that book I highly recommend for young readers who love adventure and a little comedy. It’s about 5 young dragonets, mainly the dragonet Clay, for this book, figuring out their destinies to stop the war. I loved this book as well as the other 9 books extending to this one but shown in another’s perspective. The author portrayed Clay very well as the heroic big brother ,even slipping in backstories here and there. The main character, Clay, fumbling through the world and discovered new things. As he faced trials and errors, learning whom to trust ,who he really is, and discovering things that he never knew about himself.  My favorite thing about the character is how self-conscious he is, always thinking back if he should’ve or shouldn’t have. Like “The idea of  Tsunami leaving them for another SeaWing with cool glowing scales made Clay feel extra blobby and drab.” (sutherland, 76) or “Fjord is as much as a prisoner as I am. Why should I get to live instead of him? This is why the prophecy is doomed -- because of me.”(sutherland,163)  It shows how quick he is to think negatively about himself since it’s been beaten into his mind.  As the story progresses it also introduces other new characters and stays very consistent with them and their names and I really love that. Though things were drawn out to pad the reading length which I think is a little boring. Overall there are small tidbits that should’ve been easily solved, but it is an amazing book. Though I do warn you there is a little bit of gory fighting if you have a weak stomach.
