It looked like I arrived late to the station late for this train.

I really wanted to like this book more than I did. It was 2015’s book of the year.  Everyone had read The Girl on the Train, but me. I gave it a chance.

The characters were all flawed in numerous ways, but not the good flawing that all characters need. They all seemed kind of bland. All three perspectives were impossible to root for even after knowing that they are supposed to be a mess.

The concept seemed incredibly original. And I enjoyed the style the book was set in. But after a slow start, I lost my way through the middle. The ending fell flat. For half the book, the “twist” is able to be known.

All aboard the reading express. The destination is Fineville. While you may not like the journey, at least you came out on the other side with the experience.
