When I first saw this book at the library I thought it would be just another one of those books with the cover made to get the readers attention, but it was more than that. From the first page to the last, my eyes were glued, I couldn’t let go of the book. I was actually told to put it down in class, that’s how good the book was. Reading this book is so heart breaking and so sad. I was determined to read the whole book so I could find out what the future would be like, if he was going to be able to live for the future.

This little 7 or 8-year-old boy, was always being abused by his abusive and alcoholic mom. She always plays games with him, not the fun games you might be thinking about, but games that could possibly kill him. Most parts of the book were pretty harsh. I couldn’t believe what I was reading. You would have to keep reading to know what would happen to him next after the games.

I would recommend this book to anyone who has a soft heart and sympathy for people and children who are being neglected, abused and felt left unloved. I would especially like to recommend this book to people who have been abused in their life, to let them know that they are not the only people in the world who are being treated the way they were once before.
