A Child Called "It" by Dave Pelzer
When I was in 8th grade I wanted to read the book “A Child Called It”. The cover looked very interesting so I gave it a shot. It was an amazing but sad book. I can’t believe everything that poor boy went through. I thought that book was so interesting I wanted to read his other books, so I did. When I had read his next book “The Lost Boy” it was also very interesting so I wanted to read his other book “A Man Named Dave”. I am still reading this book and so far I love it.
I love this book because I can actually relate to some things that are going on, sadly but it’s true. When I had read the first book it just brought back so much memories and that is what made me want to read on, because I knew I wasn’t alone. When I say that is because when he would tell us how his mom would abuse him and leave him locked up or sent him to a foster home, well that is exactly what my mom did to me, so I made a connection between Dave life to mine.
When I had found out in his book” A Man Named Dave” that he finally got away from all that worry and pain I was so happy to finally see he lived through being torch every day . When I was eight years old I finally got away from all my worry and the pain. His books are just breath taking and will make you want to read more of his books. Also all his books are from his life and everything what he went through, plus it is a nonfiction book. That is also why I like reading his books because I know that I will be reading something that is real and not fake.
If you were planning on reading a good book that is nonfiction then Dave Pelzer books are just right for you. I usually don’t like reading but I wanted to read more of his books. They might be sad but are very good books. If you are going through a situation then reading some of his books will let you know that you’re not alone. You will see how he managed to get through it without giving up.
