Eldest by Christopher Paolini
This book was phenomenal! Eldest is the perfect page-turning fantasy book that has great action and it fits perfectly into the Inheritance series as the second book. The book is about Eragon and his dragon Saphira going on adventures and learning how to be a true Dragon Rider, with the help of some friends. His cousin Roran also has troubles of his own throughout the book.
One reason why this book has action is because it has a fighting scene in the first chapter! Eragon has to complete some unfinished business with a couple of crazy twins directly after the final battle from the first book. If a book truly has action, it will definitely open up with it. Another example of why this book is a page-turner because, even in the first few chapters, there are cliffhangers. Honestly, who could read a cliffhanger and not want to turn the page to read on. Hence the reason why this book is "page-turning." More evidence of why Eldest is a great fantasy book is because it has a great plot intertwined with magic, dragons, elves, dwarves, and brave humans. This fantasy book appeals to everyone with how packed it is. Any fantasy book is great, but this one specifically opens the readers imagination to new worlds. Only great authors can do that. The last example of why this book is amazing, is because the author wrote the book with three different points of view: Eragon, his cousin Roran, and the rebellion leader Nasuada. Each story line is interesting and has its own conflicts, but Christopher Paolini does a wonderful job of having each of their paths cross throughout the plot.
Simply put, this awesome fantasy book will have you reading night and day, with twists and turns. It has a lot of magical and action-packed elements. Eldest and the Inheritance series should be recommended to those who love a great fantasy book with cliffhangers and lots of action and adventures.
