Hey, have you ever had a book that looked very cool on its cover and taught you a lesson? I have, and the book was called Secrets of the Shadows and it was well written by Anne Schraff. This book was published by Townsend Press Inc. in 2002. The book was non-fiction, had 126 pages, and was printed in the United States of America.

This book that I’ve been wanting to tell you about taught readers to not lie because If you do it will all end up bad on your part. This magnificent book was about a boy name Roylin who attended Bluford High. Roylin lied about stealing money from an elderly man name Mr. Miller. Mr. Miller loved Roylin; he treated him like his own grandson. Until one day Roylin took money from Mr. Miller without asking even though Mr. Miller would probably let him borrow the money, Roylin just took the money to buy Korie (a new girl at Bluford) an expensive necklace for her birthday. The lie that Roylin made, made Mr. Miller in a lot of shock that he had a heart attack. Roylin thought he killed Mr. Miller which brought him up with guilt. But really Mr. Miller was still alive and Tuttle (a janitor) was just trying to teach Roylin a lesson. Roylin felt so relieved that Mr. Miller was still alive.

The author Ann Schraff really achieved her goal because she mad Roylin feel guilty about taking Mr. Millers money without permission. She taught people when you don’t tell the truth lot guilt will kill you. When I first read the book I thought Roylin really killed Mr. Miller and I bet you will too if I inspired you enough to read Secrets of the Shadows!
