Harriet Beecher Stowe did an amazing job of describing a slave’s journey to different masters in the couth. Even though this is a history novel, Uncle Tom’s Cabin, was a book I couldn’t put down.

Uncle Tom is a slave who took over the role of teaching the slaves on the property all about Jesus. He gets traded to another slave holder along with a little boy. Tom willing went to his new master but the little boy’s mom ran away with her son.

The rest of the book is about Uncle Tom getting sold and traded to different masters. In the book Tom only had one master who truly cared for him and promised him freedom once he died. Tom didn’t gain the freedom he was promised, so he was sold yet again to a cruel master. I suggest you pick up a copy of Uncle Tom’s Cabin at your local library or book store.
