Bronxwood is about a boy named Tyrell who is living in the Bronx with all types of things going on, and how Tyrrell solves it. Bronxwood is an outstanding book to read because it has real life problems that people can relate to and how he solves it. Also I could almost guarantee you that most of the people who are deciding to read Bronxwood are coming from reading Tyrell and they know the main plot of the story, and want to know how it ends.

The main point of Bronxwood is about Tyrells struggles and what he has to do in life to improve himself, make a living for himself in the Bronx and how he fights for himself. For example, Tyrell tries to make a living in the Bronx as a DJ but can’t make enough money. Tyrell was offered a dangerous side job for fast money and decides to take the job but is it worth it just for the money?

Tyrell is a unique character himself because Tyrell always tries to act like an adult. Tyrell wants to be like an adult because his Dad was never there, and he has a little brother who needs someone to be like a father figure for him. Tyrell’s Dad finally gets out of jail but Tyrell tries to avoid him because his Dad hasn’t really been there for most of his life. He tries to tell his Dad that he doesn't need him anymore and that he doesn’t need to borrow things from him anymore, and to prove that he starts buying his own DJ equipment.

The message of Bronxwood is to tell you that even if things in life put you down and bring you to your lowest, don't succumb to it and think ahead in the future about the good things that will happen. I say this is the main message of Bronxwood because Tyrell’s bestfriend Cal end up getting a life threatening injury and in the middle of that his girl cut off everything with him so now he's in a bad spot in life and doesn't know what to do. Instead of becoming depressed about his girl and focus more on helping Cal get better.

I would recommend reading Tyrell before reading Bronxwood first because the storyline will make more sense when reading, and you won’t be all confused. Especially when you don’t know the main plot, the characters or what happened to his past life. In the first book Tyrell was only 15 as he still had the mentality of a kid who didn’t want to go school. While in the second book he was 16 and he had changed a lot in just a year because that's when he started blowing up for having DJ parties and started becoming more popular and while he was making money he started maturing.
