                                          Wonder by R.J. Palacio

Wonder is a good book because it shows how people should treat others. Even if they are not the same as us. The book is about a kid named August.  August is a kid who has been homeschooled since kindergarten to fifth grade. Reason why is because August always was scared to go to school because of his face. When he goes out in public, kids will see his face and make weird noises. I feel like teenagers will like this book because it shows you that you can treat everyone the same even if they are different.

August has had big and small surgeries; the big ones happened before he was 4 years old. August is used for the faces they make when they realize how his face is. His mother had decided for him to start going to middle school as a sixth grader. August was scared to go to school since he was going to be the only different one there at the school. His parents would argue about him going to school. August's dad didn’t agree with his mom to force him to go to school. He just wanted to have August tell them when he was ready to go to school. Before August started going to school they had taken him to explore the school. The principal and vice principal made him feel safe.

August wouldn’t go to school because he's had twentyseven surgeries throughout his life. He has some medical mysteries that the doctors never really figured out. August's sister would always get mad when people would see him differently in public. She would always tell them something but August would always tell her to leave it alone so that it was fine he was already used to it.

I really think that teenagers would like this book because it shows that everyone should be treated the same way. The special eds should be treated the same as everyone else and people who look different from us should also be treated the same way us a normal person. Just because they are different.
