I never really liked reading, I actually hated it. But why do people even like reading? Is it because it's “good” for their brain or because they're forced to read because of an assignment assigned by their teacher or college professor? I picked out Perfect Chemistry unintentionally. I read the back of the book and realized it was a teenage romance novel. Once I finished the book it made an impact about the way I felt about reading.

Perfect Chemistry is set in highschool and it's about a boy named Alex Fuentes and a girl, Brittney Ellis. Alex is a mexican boy in a latino blood gang and brittney a white rich girl from the suburbs. They hated each other with so much passion and they got assigned to be chemistry partners. Alex's friends made a bet with him to make Brittney fall in love with him for something precious. Alex gave in and began to try and manipulate Brittney into falling in love with him, but as time went by and the more they were spending time with each other. They both started falling for one another, he was falling in love with her, and she was also falling in love with him. She eventually found out about the bet and things didn't end well.

I consider this book to be a Romantic novel and young adult fiction. And what really made this book a page turner for me was how the concept of this book was so relatable in many different ways. I know many teens could relate to a young love like this and the struggles that come with being a teenager and in love. Not only that but how the main characters carry themselves, and see the difficulties that are common in most of our teenage lives and the simple fact of reading our life in a book.

Perfect chemistry is a very eye opening book and changed my perspective a lot on how I felt about reading books. This book also taught me many things about how I think and view certain things, it made me realize things about my own personal life and how I should act more accordingly whether that may be relationship wise or even situations I find myself blowing out of proportion. I'm very adamant that this book will teach something vital to somebody like how it did with me.
