The book The Bluest Eye written by Toni Morrison tells the story of Pecola, a little girl, who wishes and prays for blue eyes. Pecola deals with discrimination because of her skin color and her family's reputation.

The book is heart-wrenching and can be hard to read at times. Toni Morrison showed the reader multiple character perspectives in the book instead of just one continuous perspective. This helped me enjoy the book and understand the plot and characters more. Toni Morrison has done a wonderful job of describing the emotions Pecola feels and everything.

She has explained Pauline’s hatred for Cholly in beautifully written words. Morrison shows Pauline's hatred by describing how she grew to hate him over time, especially after she began to have children.
