When I first heard about the book Verity I wasn’t expecting it to be so twisted and suspenseful. But it was and I really enjoyed that aspect of the book because I never read anything like this before. It felt like you were a step ahead and knew what would happen next, but the opposite happened and you were left questioning what was true and not true.

The book Verity is about a girl named Lowen who is an author being asked to finish a book series from a popular author named Verity. Verity being paralyzed and unable to move to be able to write her own books. Lowen goes to live at the house and finds out the secrets of Verity’s life and how she was able to write her book series. The main plot of the book is that as readers we are finding out more about Verity. One thing I liked about the book Verity was that the book was from Lowen’s point of view. Also that there were chapters written from Verity's point of view. The chapters from Verity’s point of view that took place before her accident.

Colleen Hoover wrote this book and it was actually her first thriller that she wrote. I liked all the characters and how they were written and how they could do unexpected things. Verity as a character is very well written, from her being paralyzed and Lowen reading about her life before her accident. Verity is just an interesting character and you get to hear about her life and imagine what it was like. Throughout the book you will be wondering what is true about Verity and have guesses on what is going to happen, but it is shocking with the twists and turns that this book gives.

I loved this book and thought it was well written and it was my first time reading a thriller and I absolutely loved it. It was very suspenseful and kept you on edge that wanted you to keep reading what would happen next. It was fast paced which I really liked and it was fun to read the book. There was a surprising twist at the end of the book which made the book even better. The best part is the ending leaves the reader thinking about the book as a whole.

It also had some romance in the book as well which balanced out the thriller genre of the book. I thought some points were repetitive with having the same scenes over again. I didn't think the book needed this much romance in it, But the romance in the book really showed what the relationship of Verity and her husband Jeremy was like.

Overall the book was an easy book to read from being interesting and making you want to read more. This will be a book that you won’t want to put down because it is so well written and puts you on edge. Be ready to put aside a day or two to get through this book and it will be worth it. I would definitely recommend and would give this book 5 stars.
