I am the messenger by Markus Zusak is about a guy named Ed Kennedy who is a 20 year old taxi driver. He is known as a bank robber as he tries to steal a bank he picks up a gun from the ground and prevents the robber to leave. Ed kennedy is known as a hero even though sometimes he isn't because he’s crazy a lot. He drives his cab and in his free time he plays cards with his friends or hang out with the Doorman. Ed Kennedy is in love with his best friend Audrey who loves him back but doesn’t want to be in a relationship with Ed.

He loves a girl named Audrey which is his best friend but she says no to him as she doesn’t want to be in a relationship. Later on he starts playing with cards because that’s what he lies doing for fun or hangout with his friends to chill with. Ed lives alone but he also has a hard time with his mother all he does is play games of cards everyday and he sometimes feel Audrey doesn’t feel the same about Ed because he wants her or to keep her together. After all this laughter and love Ed gets 2 Addresses on what’s going to happen or what to do with it. And on 2 of them he is on a quest on the first address he sees guy in his house raping his girlfriend Ed is scared and can’t do nothing about it because it happens continuously and doesn’t know how to solve the situation. The 2nd address he gets is to go to a restaurant and ask information about a lady.Ed is still afraid dealing with the first scene because he’s frightened and there’s nothing he can do about it.On his current address he has to keep seeing this random girl to talk about her personal life like Ed.

The addresses get struggling because it’s asking Ed to do stupid things and it’s kind of like a challenge if he completes the task he receives a message. Maybe he delivers it who knows Ed maybe becomes the messenger by finishing these tasks by himself. Ed faces a lot difficulty throughout his whole life and what I think is he is a type of person to succeed if he takes on a challenge.

Ed and Audrey has been having a lot of problems with their relationship together with Audrey rejecting Ed in the first but now she accepts him at the end. After all the journey Ed came through he pretty much is finished with the challenges. Ed finally realizes that he couldn’t become the messenger but he always had on his mind that he is the message.
