Travel Writing; Welcome to the Upper West Side
As I gout of the train station and stepped into a city I've lived in my whole life, it was as if I entered into a whole new world. Really, I was just a train ride away from home. I took a look around and took in the Upper West Side. I've spent my whole life going to the city, but the Upper West Side was completely different. Knowing how small Manhattan is you'd assume their isn't much of a difference between Downtown and Uptown. Well, that's completely wrong. Everybody on the Upper West Side is zooming past you, on their way to an important business meeting or off to fetch their children from daycare. If you don't move quickl you'll get shoved out of the way. As you walk through the busy streets you realize you never want to leave. You so badly want to become a buisnessman and speed walk through these blocks eager to close a million dollar deal. The different types of women walking down the streets. You can't help but notice which category you fall into. Jogging down the block off to yoga, a strong buisness woman or your cliche rich girl off for a carefree day. How badly you want to wak up to your Central Park view with a doorman waiting to open your door and begin your day with a jog. This elite society where everyone knows each other and children grow up with play dates arranged by mothers who so badly want to climb up their social ladder to the absolute top. As prestigious as it sounds you can't help but want to find your way in. Every story and show you've watched of Uptown seems true, and as you continue to walk down the busy streets Welcome to the Upper West Side shines bright in your mind and you’re ready to find your way in.
