Depression by "Alexandra"; Review.
The poem "Depression" by "Alexandra" helped me realize that depression doesn't always have to be a dramatic experience. In her poem, she stated that "Depression does not always mean beautiful girls shattering at the wrists. A glorified, heroic battle for your sanity or mothers that never got the chance to say goodbye." Upon hearing the word depression, most teenagers would expect it to be dramatic and courageous. However, the author opened my eyes to the fact that it is not always. In her poem, the author included six examples of what depression that affects teenagers really is. "Sometimes depression means lying on the floor staring at the ceiling for an hour because you cannot convince your body that it is capable of movement". The author of the poem was efficient in providing examples that could relate to any teen.
