Over spring break me and my friend and her family went to moon palace resort in ocho rios jamaica. It was so gorgeous. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. Marble floors, High ceilings, massive windows, and lots of open space to sit around and lounge. Unfortunately, most of the food did not live up to the high standards of the stunning resort.

Starting off with the jerk chicken; It was probably some of the best food i've ever tasted in my life. The chicken was so tender and not dry at all. It was perfectly seasoned with the jerk seasoning which has a little kick to it. It came with a piece of corn and a piece of special bread that they roast over some fire. The corn also was perfectly cooked and it was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside and eating it with the jerk sauce made it even better. The bread almost had a sweet taste to it but it was also savery.

The outside Italian restaurant was some of the worst food that I've ever tasted in my life. They hardly even season it and not to mention that they don't give you salt or pepper at the table so you just have to eat the bland food in misery. The only good thing they had at the restaurant was some garlic bread they made with pizza crust and threw in the pizza oven.

At the outside Italian restaurant the food tasted like off brand versions of the food we have in wisconsin. It was like the same thing yet so far from it. The noodles in my chicken alfredo dish were undercooked. And the sauce was extremely bland and runny.

At the fancy Italian restaurant the food was a pretty big let down. I figured with the strict dress code and the fancy tables with dim lighting, that the wound was going to be life changing. I was wrong. I ordered pasta with pesto and grilled chicken. The chicken was so overcooked that I could hardly bite into it, and just like all the other food there it was hardly seasoned. The pesto would have been better if it was smoother and more paste-like but the pine nuts were still in big chunks and the spinach was soggy and slimy.

The hibachi restaurant was really hit or miss. The first day we went we just sat at a normal table and not in front of the hibachi grill and the food had no flavor. I ordered some yakisoba and a bowl of fried rice. The yakisoba noodles were horrendous. They tasted almost like cardboard and they were black and slimy. The rice tasted like sand and wasn't cooked all the way so it was a little crunchy. The second time we went we sat at the hibachi grill and the food was so good. The chicken and steak was salty and tender. The rice was cooked to perfection and a little bit crispy from being on the grill with the rest of the food being cooked.

Overall the food was pretty disappointing. The very few times when the food was good, it was really good but every other day the food was not appetizing.  The problem with these all inclusive resorts is that they only have a few restaurants to choose from so if you are going to be on vacation for a long time you don't have many choices and it's not like you can leave the resort when you're in Jamaica because it's too dangerous.

But—I definitely would not let the food be the reason I wouldn't go back because it never made me sick and it was edible enough to cure my hunger but overall it could definitely taste better for how much you're paying to be at an all inclusive.
