David Copperfield MAG

Magic filled The Wang Center in Boston the end of February as the audience sat mystified. The legendary theatre was filled with ghosts, a man cut in half walking clutching his legs, a dancing rose, wind, smoke, and snow. Yes, it actually snowed inside The Wang Center on those days. Great crowds of people all crowded the entrance of the Wang Center before the show.

David Copperfield, the maker of grand illusions who transported the audience into a state of childhood, placed himself in seemingly dangerous situations time after time, dumbfounding all with his tricks. The only person who may truly know his secrets may be his lovely fianc"e, Claudia Schiffer. Not even those who work with him know his secrets, only bits and pieces of specific tricks, but no one person knows a full illusion.

He has made the Empire State Building, The Statue of Liberty, and a train disappear. He has cut himself in half in many different ways, with blades and lasers. He has walked through objects including the Great Wall of China and big electric fans. He has fallen down Niagara Falls and onto spikes placed on fire. He has survived the bombing of a building and, maybe the most dangerous of all - the crowds of passionate fans who risk life and limb to come in contact with him. With such a collection of stunts, Copperfield may be seen as just a stunt man who places the infamous Stallone to shame.

David Copperfield and his magic are back, and here to stay. In a time where everyone is acting adult, it's a relief to do something fun, something that remains a mystery, something that dares people to believe in the impossible
