The Sports Dock on Pewaukee Lake
When spending a day out on the lake, you do not want an empty stomach to hold you back from having a great time. The Sports Dock on Pewaukee Lake offers family friendly service that is sure to keep you and your friends full so you can get back out on the water for boatloads of fun!
When visiting the Sports Dock, customers are given the option to either sit down at the beach or dine inside for a sit-down style meal. At the beach, the menu is minimal: grilled burgers, hot dogs, and brats. Each meal comes with a side of chips and a soda and all meals are around $8.00. Although the menu is limited, customers eat their meal while sitting lakeside at picnic tables enjoying the opportunity to have their feet in the sand. There is even a toy bucket filled with sand toys to keep kids entertained.
Inside, the air conditioned sports bar offers a great place to cool down in the heat of the day. The restaurant sits high above the Pewaukee Lake shore and has a full wall of windows for viewing pleasure during your meal. There are multiple televisions set up all around you with many different events streaming all at once so there is something for everyone.
In addition to the grilled meals that are offered lakeside, the Sports Dock has a range of appetizers and salads for customers wanting lighter faire. There is also a variety of sandwiches to choose from including their famous “Little Cluck” chicken sandwich and the traditional BLT. Being a vegetarian myself, I have found their Grilled Cheese sandwich to be one of the best around due to the crispness of the bread mixed with the creamy, melted Wisconsin cheese.
Not only is the food tasty, but it is also affordable. At the Sports Dock, my family of five was able to get five meals, all of which included a side of waffle fries and a drink, for about $10.00 a person. The kids meals are even cheaper starting as low as $5.00, adding to the family friendly atmosphere.
The service at the Sports Dock is always friendly. You will be greeted by smiling faces and a willingness to make you feel comfortable while dining. If you dine often, you will notice familiar faces, giving the restaurant a family feel.
Although welcoming, when I last ate at the Sports Dock for lunch, my meal took around 40 minutes to prepare, which was way longer than expected. Due to the large crowd and sparse staff, the waitresses were constantly rushing around trying to hit every table but ended up missing frequent check-ups. In fact, the Sports Dock is constantly packed making it very loud and difficult to hold a conversation with the people at your table.
Even though there are times when the Sports Dock is not the ideal place to eat, I would recommend the Sports Dock on Pewaukee Lake for anyone wanting to take a break from the lake to refuel for the second half of the day. The food is very good and affordable, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and it is an easy place to pick up a filling lunch while enjoying the day on the lake.
