A Sonnet to Self-Doubt
I hate the way she sees just the dark night
When it is merely a shadow, because
The stars in her eyes they shine oh so bright
With moondust scattered amongst deep applause
I hate the way she drowns in her own waves
Flailing her arms with her face painted grim
Because it's uncharted water she braves
But she knows perfectly well how to swim
I hate the way she lets clouds crowd her sun
Their presence solely her mind can permit
Clouds so thin that the battle could be won
Her sun would shine through if she would let it
I hate the way, to make myself clearer
She stares back at me in misty mirrors
