Dreams
I remember my earliest dreams in life
Summer afternoons spent in my bedroom,
A band shirt, and black shorts, no strife
And music playing, I tried to find bloom.
I never once believed they would come true
Maybe you can say those dreams were free
Dreams were like the sound that blew.
Listening to the music, I let them to flee
But in years to come, many things would change,
More dreams began to come alive.
Visions began to rearrange
As my life developed drive
I started smoothly, rowing down life’s stream,
But I do not know where I am going in this dream

What inspired me to write this sonnet is how many dreams I currently have. As a High School Senior, I have been dreaming a lot on where I'll be going in the future. What I hope people will get out of this Sonnet is that sometimes life does not go as planned and that it's okay. Some dreams fade away and some new ones come to life. However, the important dreams stay no matter what.
