What happened to me in the coffeehouse?
She sat by the counter with us in tow
Her words struck me like a frightened mouse
I wish to go and change the things I know
Rage rose in me like never before
Unfeeling words ran out of her like blood
Ice spread through me and seeped into my core
She tossed him off with a hollow thud
With life askew I sat in wonderment
Staring bleakly at her placid face
How she could think me free of such judgment
No words can heal deep wounds and disgrace
A loss shows you strength inside your heart
If used well it can make the finest art.
