The Eleven Year Old Adult
We live in a world where true love is fake,
A world where relationships move too fast,
One where marriage is easy to forsake,
And divorce rates are difficult to mask.
It’s a world where children grow up cautious,
As they have learned from their parents’ mistakes,
And just the thought of love makes them nauseous,
Though they did nothing wrong, their heart still breaks.
Yet, the parents don’t learn the same lesson,
In a few months, they fall in love again,
Hurting their child who is their succession,
Causing a new kind of world to begin.
It’s when the child must become the parent,
That family is no longer coherent.
