The Tank
Arriving at your home you were confused,
And after all these years, were finally safe,
Before us, you were taken and abused,
It took you a while for you to trust your fate,
At night you snore and take up all the space,
I finally leave the room, you follow me,
Both morning, noon, and night you stuff your face,
You look up at me, dark brown eyes you plea,
You get so jealous when I’m not with you,
Each day you want a loving belly rub,
When I see you, I really enjoy the view,
Now after camping, you go in the tub,
Although at first abandoned’s what you were,
Your love still makes my heart begin to stir.

This poem is about my dog, she was taken out of the shelter many times, and always brought back. We adopted her a few years ago, and after a lot of patience, and training, she is the biggest sweetheart. We call her the tank because she will crawl over me or anyone to get to her spot on the bed.
