One Last Thought
I’d simply like to say before I go
A love that’s deeply felt can never die.
And so, my love will never end but grow
Until at last we ask each other why
We must not be together in this life
Why we are forced to tear ourselves apart,
And turn a cheek to each others’ strife,
And walk away from one who held our hearts.
But I’ve been told this all is for the best,
That clashing hearts can never be repaired.
Our days together always will be blessed,
Now only memories of when someone cared.
So this I say to you as I let go:
I love you more than ever; I hope you know.
