Spring Gives
The wait for spring was hard to even bear.
A man sat lonely on a bench one morn'.
The park was lit up by her golden hair.
It was the day his love for her was born.
A rose so sweet to steal her heart one night;
He felt like he was living in a dream.
Like Superman, she was his kryptonite;
She melted him like a scoop of ice cream.
A life to live was multiplied by two;
After time passed he bent down on on knee.
"I want to spend my entire life with you."
The spring had come, the flowers sang with glee.
Their love for one another grew each day,
But after all, these lives can never last.
The springtime sky changed from its blue to grey.
Their years and years of happiness, they passed.
A man sat lonely on a bench one morn'.
It was the day his fragile heart was torn.
