Spring's Sonnet
Spring emerged, following a
Whirlwind of winter weather
Waiting for that ideal day
Earth came to life-untethered.
Flowers bloomed and sunlight shined
Upon the world's green spaces
Yet I payed this but no mind-
And left the season, faithless.
One petal fell in my hand
And cried out with frustration
"Will you ever understand?
This is pure celebration."
Since that time, I have learned much
Thanks to you it has been such.

This piece was written directly for a friend of mine. Although it does concern her specifically, it can be interpreted in a althogether broader sense, relating to the monumental change one person can have on another's life.
