Forest
The forest shall burn swiftly raging to
the morning light, the orange yellow skies.
Imagination’s cruel nirvana dies
seducing all until thought controls you.
The crazy terrifies all men, even you,
fools cry out thinking heavens open wide,
no, heavens open only for the bright
stars so you cringe at what your past did do.
Do not be merely alive. Open wide
possibility proves a temptress of
tonights told fortune, which responds in all
awakening a tale as old as time
excusing gross clichés exposing love
strong even after life demands a fall.
