The Dancer
Your eyes following the move of her hips,
As she twirls and whirls across the large stage,
She flashes her smile and your heart skips,
As she’s acting out Aphrodite’s rage.
She moves like colors that dance at sunset,
Rises and falls to the waves of her heart,
Dancing so that nobody will forget,
The main reason why dancing is an art.
When she dips her body across the stage,
In her red dress that swirls with desire,
Think of a pen, gliding across a page,
Leaping and stretching, higher and higher.
The applause begins, you suddenly see,
The dancer you loved, the dancer was...me.
