When my relatives come to town
All the grandparents, uncles, cousins, and aunts
They turn the whole house upside down
When they leave, I think, “Good riddance!”
Because, the tables are always full
Because, the television is always blaring football
Because, the conversations are always dull
Because of the embarrassing pictures hung on the wall
Because their are too many card games
Because of when everybody begins to argue
Because of the time wasted waiting for planes
Because their is nothing for me to do
However, I am too lucky to have this family of mine
The amount that I love them I cannot deny

This poem was written as extra credit in my english class.  Also, I wrote this as practice for our sonnet unit.
