Hollywood Highway
Wake up to the cool light of the evening,
Dress up, dress down for the colder weather.
Drown out mistaken misunderstanding
With a warmer sound that lasts forever.
It’s louder than a hurricane at night,
But quiet like below the frozen sea.
It’s darker than closing your eyes to light,
But brighter than a flame you just can’t see.
But here I am at the end of endings,
Watching my memories fall to the floor,
For they cannot suspend themselves and sing
Of good old days and nights that are no more.
And if I had a thousand years to find
Peace of mind, I’d give you a piece of mine.
