What Winter Takes
Leaves turning brown
Sky full of orange and red
Soon the grass will drown
And all the green will be dead
Warm will turn to cold
Green will turn to white
Seasons change, uncontrolled
The sky will no longer be alight
Go to bed with brown grass showing
Warmth still in the air
Birds still crowing
And yards still in reasonable repair
Only to wake up to a yard full of flakes
And thoughts of what winter takes
