The Cards I've Been Dealt
You could never know my hand,
because you didn’t deal my cards.
Don’t ask me why I’m crying,
because I’m going to simply say, “It’s hard”.
My Ace represents my struggle,
and how I’m rising from the ashes.
My King represents my faith,
and how all things are possible through my Lord God.
My Queen represents my worth,
and that you have to work for my respect and love.
My Jack represents the hurt,
and hidden feelings that no one knows about.
Oh but my 10, baby my 10 represents how 10 years from now, I will prosper,
win, even bloom into a beautiful flower.
I will be a woman of God and stand my ground.
Now that’s a beautiful hand that not many people can say they have.
Can you?
