Taken Heart
She had sadness and doubt lost in her eyes
As she longed for his hand entwined with hers
In loneliness of night she sits and cries
Fighting to focus as her eyesight blurs
She watches his demeanor every day
Ignoring the girl he can't seem to see
Her shattered world is turned to a deep grey
Her heart is closed and he carries the key
She attempts to open up her sad heart
But risking their friendship gets her to stop
As she feels them starting to drift apart
She realizes her heart begins to drop
She'll never know exactly how it feels
To have this boy following at her heels
