“Wednesdays are limbo days. Monday is the beginning of the week, Tuesday is getting used to it, Thursday is looking forward to Friday and Friday is getting ready for the weekend. Wednesdays aren’t really anything in particular. They’re just there.”

The winter wind howls often at my door!

How soon the god of winter shall appear?

He strides through snow, the stuff of ancient lore

To rap upon my glass and banish cheer

And pushed before shivers the Frost, named Jack

To paint his work upon my window pane

For once he’s done winter calls him far back

And advances to establish his reign

The snow, falling softly, muffles all sound

The people stay warm in bed, hiding from him

Huddling together in shack or lodge

Searching for the sun in the clouds grim

One day it bursts forth with feeble light

Setting the god of winter to his flight

First sonnet I've ever written, in Iambic Pentameter.

Thanks for the ideas! Like I said, it's my first sonnet and I was just getting a feel for the format, etc. I will keep your criticism in mind, thank you!

Very detailed and descriptive. Just so you know winter is my favorite time of the year. I thought that this was very interesting about this person was talking about when the god of winter shall appear. I think it could have had more to it. This poem was great but as i said needs some more to it.
