Have you ever tried to cut a diamond,
Using nothing but a dull butter knife?
‘Tis the same effect trying to abscond
Your sweet love’s effect on my lonely life.

Deep in the kiln will I try and resist
The feelings that burn in my soul and heart.
Fear that I’ll lose you and I won’t be missed
With your gem of a soul I will not part.

I would rather mine despite the great risks
Then live with great regret and never know.
There is no feeling in the world like this.
Your stone’s bright luster does make my heart glow.

Though I’ve found diamonds on many a day
Yours has more carats so love shines the way.
