When marble limestone comes to powder dust
And buildings crumble to the hallowed ground

The eyes that were filled with such greed and lust,
Lie hollow and empty without a sound.

As our spirits float across soft skies,
And the Earth has payed our solemn cost,
And the ground is filled with such happy sight,
As lush green beds recapture what was lost,

The rabbit roams without a single fear,
A beautiful expanse of blue and green,
The birds call down from rows of lofty trees,
Free to fly, free to grow, and free to preen.

Wherever I am, hell, or merry isle
I will look to earth and give a smile

This piece came a lot from how I feel about our man vs. nature scenario. I had a lot of fun writing it!
