Song of the Sirens
Upon the water the mist did curl
Beneath the twilight's glow
A ghostly ship sailed silently
Listing gently to and fro
The sailors' minds began to fade
Their wits began to dull
Eighty-four days they'd been adrift
Crammed in the bowels of the hull
Then soft and slow a song did rise
And carried 'cross the sea
For upon the rocks two figures sat
As lovely as could be
From angelic lips a sound did flow
Such sweetness never heard
It almost seemed more prayer than song
They clung to every word
Though no man understood the words
They all could hear the song
And towards the rocks they steered the ship
Their wonder drew them on
They never saw the danger
Alas it was too late
Though the cliffs became their headstone
The Sirens sealed their fate
