Country Eyes
I know they can't see you
Not in the way I do
They see only the surface
But I can see through
That fake tough exterior
To the sweetheart inside
The gentleman you are
All that vulnerability you hide
Your smile holds more comfort
Than any other I have known
You've shown more than compassion,
The best love someones ever shown
You don't shower me with compliments
You let me know when I am wrong
And no matter how awful I sound,
You'll always let me sing my favorite song
So to this I pray for my own sake
Let none of those words be filled with lies
Because it'll break my heart o find a liar
Within those beautiful country eyes
