Darkness
Sprinting past the hills and tree,
Running from the dark,
Hoping it won’t catch up to me,
They wish upon me a mortal mark.
I have just run past the cliff.
I am quite close to home.
The monsters scared my limbs stiff.
How much longer must I roam?
The beasts are nearly here.
I can smell their awful stench.
My house is oh so near!
Myself from their grip I wrench.
Behind myself I close the door.
The monsters threaten me no more.
