Flaws
At night, the city seems to come to life
Flaws all hidden by the forgiving dark
People stir, and like the flash of a knife
The empty streets fill; Goths head to the park
Finding safety in the crushed velvet black
The kids drink and dance in underground clubs
The colored lights adding the years they lack
Red-eyed businessmen sip at brews in pubs
Suits rumpled, shoulders hunched, fixed on the games
Rich housewives let their highlighted hair down
Tossing back booze, till they forget their names
The tentative tourists inch into town
Lured by tales of riches lost and won
Staying late until banished by the sun
