Tell Me What's Wrong
Tell me what’s wrong when I use the word gay;
Are you scared? Offended? Inclined to say,
It’s sick? It’s weird? It’s not normal to be
Different from the crowd, and different from me.
Nobody’s perfect, we can all agree
And nobody ever knows everything.
So all we can do is sit back and cope
Get over those fears, and spread a new hope.
Tell me why you laugh when he comes right out
Because maybe, just maybe, though you doubt.
It’s hard for him to look you in the eye
And say, “Here I am. And yes, I am bi.”
So guess what? I’m straight, as straight as a line;
But being curved means you’re not as defined.
What’s wrong with attraction to the same sex?
I guess your mind isn’t quite that complex.
And yes, this is supposed to offend you
To question your motives, so think it through.
We try to promote peace around the world
But a new type of war has now unfurled.
