Dimming Stars
She couldn't feel, she couldn't speak
She felt so dumb, she felt so weak
She told them she felt so alone
And then, she was afraid of home
All she could see was fading scars
That kissed her skin like dimming stars
All she could feel was soggy tears
And broken love and wasted years
Love was all that she did crave
She stayed alone, she played it safe
That's all she felt that she could do
So many mumbled "I love you" 's
She's hold it in and then she'd weep
Nightmares sewn into her sleep
All she could do was sit and cope
And dream of somewhere there was hope
Her heart chained in behind steel bars
With soggy tears and dimming stars...
