One Letter
The letter came today,
The one no one wants to come to their door.
Now you only have one place to stay,
As I read this letter I hit the floor.
Now I go tell our son,
Why his hero wont be coming home.
I don’t think the crying will ever be done.
‘Cuz in heaven you now roam.
As I pack up your things,
I smile and think,
You finally have your wings
But I’m missing a link.
Being happy is now simple,
Knowing that I will see you again.
But then I get to thinking,
I don’t like not knowing when.
It will be my time soon,
I will be going to see you.
