Ode to the Moon
A luminous gleaming sphere above the earth,
You've lit our planet ever since its birth.
Your beauty fills all human hearts with awe,
Piercing through the night sky like a claw.
Your surface reflects all the glorious sun's light,
A constant shining presence throughout plight.
Like a pearl, suspended miles above the sea,
A treasure is the ocean reflection of thee.
In day rotating around Earth you are,
Visible to humans from afar.
You fade away at dawn and then return,
For your presence nocturnal beings yearn.
