Celestial Insomniac
The moon and the stars, they are my only
Witnesses as I lie here and wonder
If tonight she is feeling as lonely
As I am, with my heart torn asunder
She casts a warm beam of light ‘cross my face,
It envelopes me, holding on so tight.
In this shadow of brightness, we embrace.
We melt away the cold, it hides in fright.
To capture her in a poem, I think
It would be impossible, one would need
One hundred pages and gallons of ink
To start to describe her beauty, indeed.
But I need not worry, because I know,
She is mine, and her love she will bestow.
